“In Christ”

In the Bible, over and over again we read the two words “in Christ.” By God’s wisdom and kindness, He has arranged a number of terrific blessings in that one location: “in Christ.” What are some of those things that are in Jesus?

All spiritual blessings: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).

Forgiveness/redemption: “In whom (Jesus) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7).

Salvation: “Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus . . .” (2 Timothy 2:10).

No condemnation: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus . . .” (Romans 8:1).

Eternal life: “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11).

How can a person get into the Christ in order to receive those great blessings of God? It is not by doing good deeds for others. It is not by praying to Jesus. It is not by “going to church.” It is not by talking to a preacher, priest, or pastor.

The Bible reveals only one way that a lost person can get into Jesus. How is that? By being baptized. The Bible says: “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?” (Romans 6:3).

Friend, are you in the Christ? If not, we would love to help you learn the truth and prepare yourself to take that step!
