Every human has a physical body. Each of us has an eternal soul, too, given to us by the God of heaven.
The great Creator of the universe wants your soul to be in heaven. He really does. And, He has the power to make it happen! Sin is awful because it separates those who practice it from the Lord, but God has a plan that will overcome sin. He sure does!
There is God’s love – God’s unchanging, unconditional love for mankind caused Him to send His Son into the world. “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9).
There is God’s grace – “Grace” is favor or kindness. We owe our salvation to God’s grace, as it is written, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men” (Titus 2:11).
God’s Son is a central part of the plan – “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners . . .” (1 Timothy 1:15). For you and me, the Savior laid down His life on Calvary. Truly, He paid it all. The blood of Jesus has the power to wash away every sin that every person has committed. As the old song says, “There is power in the blood.”
There also is God’s gospel – The Lord’s good news about Jesus is the message that saves. The gospel is the power of God to salvation. The Bible says so (Romans 1:16).
Coupled with God’s love, grace, Son, and gospel, there is man’s proper response to the Lord’s instructions. To be saved from sin, a lost person must believe in Jesus as the Son of God (John 3:14-18), repent of past sins (Acts 3:19), confess faith in the Christ (Romans 10:10), and be baptized in water for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38). Any other approach will not get the job done!
The mighty Lord has the power to save your soul. Have you complied with His will?
